Grad pictures will take place on Monday, February 25, 2019. Retakes will happen on April 10 and 11th.
Upcoming Due Dates – Toronto Trip Payment and Yearbook Preorder
The second Toronto Trip Payment is due today (January 25). Please make sure this is paid so ticket booking can begin.
The Grades 7s and 8s will be included in the 2018/2019 yearbook. In order to receive one of these yearbooks next fall, you must preorder it now. The final date for preorder is February 8. There will not be extra yearbooks to purchase when they are published, so please preorder now.
Band Performance
The Grade 7 and 8 bands will be giving a short performance on Thursday, December 20 at 1 p.m. in Townshend Theatre. Family and friends are invited to attend.
Science Test – Fluids
There will be a Science Test on our Fluids unit on Thursday, November 29th. A study sheet and rubric for the test will be sent home tomorrow. Attached is a copy of the study sheet and rubric to help prepare for the test.
Toronto Trip Information
The Toronto Trip will take place from June 15-21st, 2019. We are just in the early planning stages. Please make sure you return the form to indicate if your child will be going on the Toronto trip or not.
Language Assignments
Students are encouraged to use feedback from their rubrics and notes on Google Classroom to improve their work. Any assignments that students wish to improve upon, can be resubmitted for remarking, once corrections have been made.
Students are asked to indicate at the top of their assignment that they would like the assignment to be remarked.
Picture Retakes
Picture Retakes will take place on Thursday, October 25th. If you are planning on ordering pictures from the last picture session, please order online at www.mylifetouch.ca.
Halloween Dance
There will be a Halloween Dance on October 31st from 1:30-3:00. Students are encouraged to dress up in a costume and are asked to bring a non-perishable food item as a donation.
Becoming Global Citizens
The focus in Language has been on critical literacy. The students have been reading and writing being global citizens. This includes ways to protect our planet and the people that live in it. All of their assignments have been completed on Google Classroom. Please send your email to Mrs. Taylor to be able to be linked to your child’s Google Classroom and stay updated on his/her assignments.
